NASPC 2014

What a great time in Columbus ! As always, the great people are what makes a pipe show. Sure, the finest pipes and tobacco in the World are at your fingertips, but even that pales before good times over cold drinks and warm pipes.

This years show was no exception, and once again Premal Chhedas hospitality knew no bounds. After the show ended Saturday, Premal invited several dozen of us out to dinner and everyone had a great time. On Sunday, Premal and Smokers Haven held a Pipemakers meetup and opened his shop for the event. A good time was had by all attending and quite a few Pipe Makers worked in the back to create two wonderful Collaboration Pipes.

I was honored with an invitation to stay the next week and work with Premal, Bill Shalosky and Smokers Havens' newest employee and Pipe Maker Jesse Jones. Micah Redmond from Florida was also there, and Thomas James of Thomas James Pipes road his Harley from Pennsylvania to work with us later in the week. We were able to make another collaboration, an XL Bent Rhodesian.

All told, it was a fantastic show, and the lessons I learned working with such fantastic Pipe Makers will no doubt do great things for my own work.

Thanks to all who made it such a great trip!
